Marty Snider first came to Deer Isle when friends purchased the Pilgrims Inn. He and his wife Jane purchased their first property in Stonington in 1986. They bought their present property in Deer Isle in 2000 and built a home in 2005.
Marty holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston University and a Juris Doctorate degree from George Washington University in Washington D.C. He is an attorney licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia, Virginia and Maryland and has practiced for over 40 years. Marty has served on several not-for-profit boards over the years (retirement community, education, and the arts) and has been legal counsel and consultant to several boards as well.
Marty enjoys many physical activities such as running, kayaking, hiking and martial arts. He is a six degree black belt instructor in the Korean martial art of Hapkido and has practiced this art form for over 35 years.Over many years he has travelled the U.S., Canada and Nova Scotia on his Harley Davidson motorcycles.
